Azimuth
Rotor
The Azimuth shaft is driven by a medium sized Prop Pitch gearbox. This Prop Pitch gearbox was used to change the pitch of the propeller blades on a World War 2 Aircraft. The original d.c. motor has been replaced with a 110 volt a.c. reversible motor (salvaged from an old photocopier). The Azimuth shaft is attached to the output of the gearbox using a flange coupling. One side of the flange is welded directly to the top of the output bevel gear which originally coupled to the propellers.
